Rocket Software, the owners of the U2 products have just issued their latest newsletter with some interesting bits and pieces.
To my surprise, the data extraction reporting tool from Cedarville University for the U2 product range has a new release – version 7.40!
One of the API’s provided by the U2 range of products within the UniDK is InterCall. This package provides access to U2 data and the ability to execute commands, including UniBasic programs in a non-SQL manner.
It is also possible to use InterCall within Python.
This morning, I received an email summary of my linked-in activities. One of the network activities was Susan Joslyn comment that U2 had been added to the non-sqldatabases.org website.
I have been exchanging a couple of emails with Rocket Software regarding the status of the U2 Professional Certifications. Their web site is a bit broken on the certification page; all the links refer to IBM and then only one of the links actually works.

I have returned to New Zealand after being away for 18 months. So, I have been on the lookout for information regarding the current status of IT within NZ, in-particular multi-value products.
The New Zealand MIS magazine had it’s top 100 ICT user list in the May 2008 issue. It lists the largest IT users, based mainly on the number of screens within the organisation.

Well, the U2 mail lists are up and running again. It appears that a technical issue brought the mail server down while the moderator was on vacation.
OK. Fair enough. The mail lists are a voluntary run service sponsored by the U2UG. But, this got me thinking about where you go for U2 support and also the type of questions that are being asked within the lists and forums.
A new podcast has arrived in my itunes from IBM. Following the general theme, it’s getting the most out of wInetgrate 6.1.
I have added a new page which has an embedded list of the current U2 forums at Nabble.
