Great Guru Software – MetaFourGL
Some years ago, I found this web site – GREAT GURU SOFTWARE.
The Great Guru has a 4GL for PICK called MetaFourGL.
I did try it on UniVerse, but was never able to completely get it to run. Installation was into an account and there were some issues with the core programs not compiling under UniVerse.
I think that it is time to give it another go…
New Font at the top
Last year while looking for something else regarding fonts, I accidentally found a method of replacing non-standard fonts within a web page with flash. It all started with another web site and the pigpen font (that in itself was difficult to find), but thats another story…
Anyway, I thought that I would try using this technique here as I have found rather a nice font for the heading at the top of the U2 Blog web pages.
VMware and Diskeeper
I use VMware Workstation on MS-Windows XP to run a number of virtual Linux machines. This has worked very well for sometime now.
Recently the virtual machines have been starting and running very slowly; taking anything up to 15 minutes to come up with the login prompt. This has been across the board on all virtual machines and had me stumped as ‘nothing had changed’.
